OCTOBER 2018 – Jacto is the best company in the Agricultural Tractor and Machinery segment. Jacto has remained the leader in the segment for the sixth consecutive year according to the Best of Agribusiness award granted by Globo Rural magazine.
The award ceremony which honored companies in 20 agroindustry segments, was held on October 23 in São Paulo (SP). The companies were chosen as the best in each category based on their 2017 financial results and their sustainability initiatives. The methodology used to assess the awarded companies was developed by Serasa Experian.
The tone of the speeches delivered by authorities attending the ceremony was marked by the valorization of Brazilian agribusiness, which has to overcome challenges, but whose scenario for 2019 is optimistic.
Fernando Gonçalves, President of Jacto, received the award on behalf of the company. When the company was honored for its 70th anniversary celebrated in 2018 Mr. Jiro Nishimura, son of the founder and President of the Shunji Nishimura Technology Foundation, joined Mr. Gonçalves on stage.
Wanderson Tosta, Marketing Director, and José Tonon Junior, Communication Manager, also attended the ceremony.
“To receive this award and be honored for our 70th anniversary mean a great deal to us. It also makes our history stand out even more. A history built through entrepreneurship, work, evolution and, above all, love. Love for the feeling of always doing more, of seeking the most adequate solutions, of helping others so they can also progress and everybody can grow together.
This is our founder’s legacy which is taken seriously also by the family’s second generation and which we seek to keep alive in our management and relationships. And we owe what we are as a company to farmers, to our customers who trust our work and always promote us to continue to develop the pillars of our organizational culture: to work in a collaborative, participative, innovative and high-performance way”, commented Gonçalves.
Technological tradition – with a revenue of R$ 1.2 billion, a profit of R$ 92 million and investments worth R$ 35 million, the company produces equipment and precision agriculture solutions for sprayers, fertilizer spreaders and coffee harvesters. The forecast is to end 2018 with an even higher revenue: from 15% to 20%.
To promote growth, Jacto invests 4.5% to 5.5% of its revenues in research, development and launching new products. It has renovated its factory facilities recently and it has launched more than ten new machines. Besides its medium-sized and large sprayers, Jacto’s portfolio now has innovations in knapsack sprayers, an equipment present in the company’s DNA – a company that was born from a repair shop at a time it was almost impossible to import machinery due to the Second World War.
