Respect for nature is present in all Jacto actions and decisions. We understand we are part of a large ecosystem and that we have responsibilities towards rivers, fauna, flora, governments, regulatory agencies, people and society as a whole. We seek to minimize the environmental impact of our products and processes, reduce the use of natural resources and generate less waste.
Awareness to adopt correct manufacturing processes has led us to an important achievement in 2013: ISO 14001 certification, the international environment and sustainability standard. It is a guarantee to the world that the company manufacturing processes comply with standards of environmental respect. Since then, Jacto has undergone periodic audits by the certifier and has been approved every time.
We emphasize making the best use of the materials required to manufacture our machines and equipment. Waste and scraps are kept in a safe and covered place and later sent for recycling or reuse. A selective waste collection program is also maintained in all company areas.
Wastewater from manufacturing processes are treated in the company itself and remaining waste is sent for specialized treatment plants. To ensure the quality of water before it is discharged back into the environment, Jacto runs extra tests beyond the ones required by the legislation.
We are also committed to using water efficiently in our manufacturing processes. Rainwater is harvested and used to refrigerate machines, with no need for chemical treatment. Reusing water used to test sprayer tanks is another Jacto’s initiative. Therefore, we reduce the amount of water withdrawn from natural artesian wells or supplied by public network to the company.
As a member of the larger ecosystem, Jacto takes constant care of its processes and actively seek opportunities to make them more sustainable.
