Jacto is introducing new portable equipment with top-notch performance and putting a spotlight on sustainability-focused efforts.
June, 2024 – Jacto, a Brazilian multinational of agricultural machinery, solutions, and services, will have a booth at the 2024 Hortitec Fair taking place in Holambra (state of São Paulo) from June 19th to June 21st. The event is one of the biggest horticultural meetings of Latin America, gathering producers, department professionals and institutional representatives focused on growing flowers, fruits, vegetables and forestry.
At the invitation of Embrapa Hortaliças, Jacto will take part on the Industry Panel with the discussion: "Overview and Perspectives for machinery and equipment for family farming" on June 20th, at 4:30 pm. The Research and Technology Manager, Rodolfo Castanho, will oversee the discussion and will share his insight on the topic and Jacto's involvement in the sector.
Those who attend Hortitec will also be able to check out the company’s latest releases, including Jacto SB-20B battery-powered backpack sprayer. Developed entirely by Jacto, this equipment features an ergonomic design with great cost-effectiveness. It is renowned for its pump’s exceptional durability, boasting a lifespan five times longer than equivalent products on the market and the availability of spare parts. The company provides a 3-year warranty for the equipment.
Another release is the Jacto SB-18P, a high-pressure battery-powered backpack sprayer with an 18-liter tank, high-capacity pump that reaches up to 150 psi and a flow rate of 3.8 liters per minute, ensuring the producer more agility in the work journey. The equipment features easy usability, a potentiometer for fine pressure adjustments and two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Both equipment and batteries also have a 3-year warranty.
Considering the producer’s security, Jacto will present its new personal protection equipment (PPE) for agricultural pesticide applicators. The Jacto PP-30 is a water-repellent protection kit which prevents the crossing of toxic products into the clothing interior. The model can be washed up to 30 times and it's an excellent choice for those who seek weightlessness, comfort and resistance.
Pruning Equipment – Jacto is set to release the Jacto PB-25 battery-powered pruning scissors. These scissors, with a cutting capacity of up to 25 millimeters, feature an ergonomic design and weigh only 670 grams, reducing the risk of wrist strain. With an operational performance three times greater than manual methods, they offer versatility through three adjustable cutting options: 12.5 mm, 18.7 mm, and 25 mm.
One battery for multiple applications – An added highlight is the JB-1680P Battery, featuring interchangeability which allows its use with several Jacto portable battery-powered equipment. Rechargeable and with a lifespan up to 2.500 cycles (approximately 8 years), it keeps constant tension for efficient spraying. It is manufactured with Li-ion (Lithium-Ion) and has a 3-year warranty. With an emphasis on cost-efficiency, Jacto allows producers who already own any Jacto PJB, DJB, SB, DJB-S or GB-18 models to buy new ones without the electronic kit and use the interchangeable battery.
During the 2024 Hortitec, clients who buy any portable Li-ion battery-powered equipment along with a Jacto SB-20 backpack sprayer (without electronic kit), will win a JB-1680P Battery and will be able to compete for various prizes.
Focus on sustainable practices and reverse logistics
Since 2021, Jacto has formed a partnership with Green Eletron, non-profit management, to operationalize the reverse logistics of electrical and electronic equipment, collecting and correctly disposing of products at the end of their lifespan, thus promoting the circular economy.
For that, the company’s booth at the 2024 Hortitec Fair will be a voluntary drop-off point for electronic panels, portable equipment batteries and chargers at the end of their lifespan. “One of Jacto's premises throughout its history is to maximize the sustainability of its products and processes, reducing the use of natural resources and the generation of waste”, points out Marcelo Sulpicio, Quality and Validation Manager at Jacto.
During the event, the visitor may take their item to the Jacto’s booth. Once collected, the materials will be sent to approved companies for recycling. The reintegration of the electronic equipment will occur appropriately in the production cycle to avoid any negative impact on the environment.
